Fish oil organizations are concerned by a recent audit conducted by the EU’s Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (DG Sante) in Peru, over a “lack of clarity” on what it might mean for imports of fish oil for human consumption coming into the bloc.

DG Sante released its draft report of the audit, which was carried out in Peru from April 30 to May 11, to "evaluate the control systems in place governing the production of fishery products intended for export to the European Union."
