The British Columbia government and North Island College (NIC) partnered on a new CAD 600,000 (€415,916/$449,104) project to boost aquaculture in British Columbia and increase knowledge in the field.

Shirley Bond, minister of jobs, tourism and skills training and minister responsible for labor announced the government funding for a new aquaculture Sector Labour Market Partnership (LMP).

The program will include training in advanced aquaculture techniques, learning and skills assessment, and marketing strategy to promote aquaculture careers.
