Norwegian salmonid egg producer AquaGen acquired 51 percent of Danish-based breeding company AquaSearch ova, one of the world's leading suppliers of genetics for the portion-size trout market.
Globally, production of portion-size trout was 650,000 metric tons, with annual growth of 5-7 percent over the last three years.
AquaSearch ova, established in 2006, is a leading global player in breeding and egg production of trout. From its headquarters in Billund, the company has developed a product portfolio with distribution from its six broodstock farms in Denmark.
