Unless you happened to have retired to a cave last week, you will know that Atlantic Sapphire made its first commercial harvest of land-based salmon from its Miami Bluehouse.

Virtual champagne corks rocketed across social media with congratulatory remarks in abundance.

But what now?

The salmon -- a product never sold before in a retail store -- is on the shelves at several US grocery chains with a recommended price that expects a significant premium.

So what is the story? How will retailers tell consumers this product is different? Will consumers care enough to pay the difference? And will success have traditional net-pen producers clamouring for their own plot of land?

The first fish may be out of the water, but the real work for Atlantic Sapphire and the real test of investor confidence is really just beginning.

In this week's IntraFish podcast Editor-in-Chief Drew Cherry, Executive Editor John Fiorillo and Editor Rachel Mutter ask the questions on everyone's lips and discuss how the land-based journey moves on from here.

We also talk about our choice for the 2020 IntraFish Person of the Year, Therese Log Bergjord, why we chose her and what she is doing differently to elevate the seafood industry to new heights.
