President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Friday to cut red tape and help grow the US aquaculture industry.

Is this a distraction technique? Or is he serious? And how easy will it really be to grow a sector so tangled in bureaucracy and opposition?

Whatever happens, it definitely reflects a growing trend towards localized food production, which in itself spells out a change in direction for the seafood industry.
