Canadian giant Cooke Aquaculture and Greek private equity fund Diorasis are reportedly front-runners to acquire assets Greek bass and bream producers Nireus and Selonda are being forced to shed as part of their upcoming acquisition, according to Euro2day.

The bids were made via Cooke's Spanish subsidiary Culmarex and Diorasis subsidiary Kefalonia.

The Greek Commerce Competition Directorate (DG Comp) ordered Nireus and Selonda to offload part of their production capacity in order to green-light their joint acquisition by US equity fund Amerra and investment company Mubadala.

The assets correspond to a production capacity of 10,000 metric tons.
