UK retail giant Tesco is planning to close fish counters in some stores among other measures announced as part of a £1.5 billion (€1.7 billion/$2 billion) cost-cutting effort, reports Inews.

The company is also closing some of its meat and delicatessen counters, according to media reports.

Tesco, Britain’s largest supermarket chain, has 732 stores. A typical shop houses five fishmongers, five butchers, as well as six deli and cheese counter workers who now all face being layed off.
