A new coalition of salmon processors in the European Union is seeking an end to Norway’s export ban on so-called production fish, arguing that “the very existence” of the industry is under threat.
In an open letter to the industry, the EU Salmon Processors Union (ESP Union) said it was “high time” for the industry to take collective action against a Norwegian export policy that it says is severely restricting the availability of affordable salmon for processing within the trading bloc.
