About 2,000 escaped rainbow trout have been caught after 15,000 fish escaped from Leroy's facility in Austevoll, Leroy Vest General Manager Morten Fjaereide told IntraFish sister publication Fiskeribladet.

Norway-based seafood group Leroy notified the Directorate of Fisheries on Aug. 31 about the discovery of a large hole at its Naveide site in Norway's Austevoll municipality.

The damage was discovered during an inspection after the Directorate of Fisheries had received a tip about rainbow trout in the area.

The number of recaptured fish was yesterday, Wednesday, adjusted to 2,000 up from 1,600 on Sept.
