Tuna giant Calvo's processing plant up for grabs

No one has showed any interest in the facilities yet.

Spanish tuna canning firm Calvo said it is willing to facilitate the installation of another tuna processing group at its Esteiro plant once it shuts it down, reports La Voz de Galicia.

Maria Jose Alfonso, Esteiro’s mayor, met with Calvo’s executives to discuss the possibilities of keeping the plant open due to the socio-economic impact that shutting it down would have, but the company said the move is “irreversible.”

After hearing the company is willing to make it a straightforward process to anyone who wants to move their operations there, Alfonso said the move is welcome but no one has yet showed interest in the facilities.
