MerAlliance launches major recruitment drive

Company is looking to fill 250 fixed-term positions by the end of the year.

French smoker MerAlliance is looking to recruit as many as 250 fixed-term workers by the end of the year -- 60 of which will be hired in August, reports Ouest France.

The company, based in Quimper in Finistère, is launching the major recruitment campaign to strengthen its production teams to close the summer and in view of the peak production at the year-end.

In light of this, 250 jobs in fixed-term contracts are to be filled on its site at Keradennec, of which 60 will be filled from mid-August.

More than 20 percent of smoked salmon sales are concentrated in the last few weeks of the year, in time for Christmas, therefore MerAlliance, a leader in smoked fish with private labels, is looking to expand its production teams.

The 60 new recruits will be welcomed in mid-August to ensure the last summer replacements and be operational until the end of December. Then another 200 positions will be open from September for the season.

The positions to be filled are production operators and the proposed contracts are full-time fixed-term contracts, i.e. 35 hours per week, alternating between morning and afternoon from one week to the next.
