Sykes Seafood, Klaas Puul invest $50 million in two Moroccan facilities

UK-based seafood wholesaler Sykes Seafood and Dutch shrimp processor Klaas Puul will invest €40 million ($47.7 million) over the next two years in building two new factories in Morocco.

Sykes acquired Klaas Puul -- the shrimp processing and marketing subsidiary of the Dutch Seafood Company (DSC) – in late 2019, creating a €300 million ($333 million) seafood business and one of the largest producers of shrimp-based products in Europe.

The combined businesses operate facilities in the UK and the Netherlands as well as a factory in Tangier, Morocco.
