A delegation of the Russian officials and members of the seafood industry attended the Seafood Expo Global in Brussels, Belgium, last week.
The main aim of its participation was to attract foreign investments and to "defend our markets, including the European one, which is very important for us," Petr Savchuk, deputy head of the Russian fishery agency Rosrybolovstvo, said at the exhibition.
According to him, Russian exhibitors are willing to ink new contracts to supply European future customers.
“I know that a number of companies-participants of the show are now coming to such agreements," he said, naming Nakhodka Active Marine Fishery Base, Ocean Trawlers, and Russian Fishing Company.
