Friday the 13th is not a good day for salmon buyers, who have to fork out up to NOK 75 (€8.09/$9.18) per kg for fresh salmon. Prices are up nearly NOK 10 (€1.08/$1.22) per kg from last Friday.
"It's crazy. It started very, very high, but it has calmed down a bit throughout the day," an exporter told Intrafish. "Earlier today there were prices up to NOK 80 [€8.60/$9.80] per kg. Such levels allow more and more processors to stay open on Monday, which meant that prices fell slightly through the day."
