The National Fisheries Institute (NFI) is urging members of the media and seafood industry to refrain from jumping to conclusions about the guilt or innocence of Bumble Bee CEO and former NFI Chairman Chris Lischewski.

The exec on Wednesday was indicted by a federal grand jury in California for his role in a conspiracy to fix prices of canned tuna sold in the United States.

The one-count felony indictment alleges Lischewski carried out the conspiracy by agreeing to fix the prices during meetings and other communications.
