China Fishery Group’s interest in acquiring Copeinca has thrust the Peruvian meal and fish oil manufacturer into the sights of other possible buyers -- including Norwegian feed and salmon producer Cermaq.
“There’s more than one player on the hunt for meal and oil in Peru,” says analyst Henning Lund of Pareto Securities on the question of whether Cermaq might jump on the bandwagon to capture Copeinca.
"We have some thoughts on this, but no conclusions. So, I’m not about to speculate. Give Jon Hindar a call," said Lund with a grin.
