Belfast seafood firm signs supply deal with Tesco

The company will sell products in stores across Northern Ireland.

Belfast-based seafood supplier Keenan Seafood signed a six-figure deal with Tesco to sell its fresh fish at the retailer’s counters, reports Irish News.

With the move, Keenan Seafood will sell some of its 250 lines to the supermarkets in Northern Ireland, and will create five new jobs.

"The introduction of this concession signals a renaissance among local shoppers for a fresh, daily catch, as well as a growing interest to incorporate fish more into family meals, due to its well-publicized health benefits," said Stephen Magill, commercial manager for Tesco Northern Ireland.

The company operates from a factory in Kennedy Way, Belfast and employs more than 35 staff in total.
