Landry's wins bankruptcy auction for Joe's Crab Shack parent company

The two are awaiting a federal judge's approval.

Landry's has won a bankruptcy court auction for Ignite Restaurant Group, parent to Joe's Crab Shack, reported NRN

Now, the companies are waiting for a federal judge's approval for the sale during an Aug. 17 bankruptcy court hearing.

Ignite filed for bankruptcy protection in early June.

Landry's, solely owned by Tilman Fertitta, made a $55 million (€42.2 million) bid for Ignite's US assets in bankruptcy court.

"We’re excited to be able to bring back Joe’s to what it was once before: a very casual, fun seafood restaurant that serves a lot of crabs," Fertitta said.
