Gaskill, who is expected to begin in August, has been in the salmon aquaculture industry for nearly a quarter century and has had roles varying from hatchery manager to regional director at Marine Harvest Norway and Canada.

"We feel that Jamie's wide range of expertise will serve us well as we start up on the East Coast of Canada," said Marit Solberg, COO farming at Marine Harvest. "He is familiar with the country and how they operate.

"We look forward to the input and leadership that he will provide in this new geographical area for Marine Harvest," she said.

Gaskill's first task will be to formulate a business plan for the region and set up new staffing organization for freshwater, seawater and processing.
