Stavis appoints new president to lead 'aggressive' growth expansion

The company is bringing in a food industry veteran to help its expansion into new channels.

Boston-based Stavis Seafoods announced it appointed former Elevation Brands CEO Charles Marble as its new president.

Marble is replacing Jack Fleishman, who held the role on an interim basis since October 2016.

Stavis said, Marble's leadership, brand building, retail and food industry experience will help expand the company’s reach into new channels.

In this role, he will help build the Stavis brands to meet evolving needs of customers, develop product and channel opportunities, and integrate the recently opened Peabody facility into the operations of the company.

He will also be responsible for executing on the company’s aggressive growth strategy, which includes breaking ground on a state-of-the-art facility in Boston’s Marine Industrial Park later this year.

"Chuck is the positive, high energy leader we need to help guide us through these exciting changes," Stavis said. "He will help us grow our service level capabilities, improve our processes, take advantage of new opportunities and lead our management team."

Marble has more than 30 years of experience in the food industry, including senior management and executive positions at Elevation Brands, Weetabix Food Company and Triad Foods Group.

He also serves as chair-elect for the Cornell University Food Science Advisory Council, and executive board member for the New England Celiac Organization.

“Initially, Chuck will be focused on processes and performance,” said Stavis. “He has skill sets, especially in branded and retail product innovation, which are extremely exciting and will greatly benefit the business. I have absolute confidence in his abilities and expertise and I am very pleased he is part of the Stavis team."
