Chile salmon exports up 52% in December

Exports value to the different destinations hit $457 million in December alone.

Chilean salmon exports increased 52 percent in December to $457 million (€434.3 million), up from exports of $300 million (€285.1 million) reported in the same period a year earlier, according to the latest data released by the government’s foreign trade department.

In the full year of 2016, salmon exports came to $3.45 billion (€3.3 billion), up 12 percent from the $3.07 billion (€2.9 billion) in exports reported a year earlier.
