Several companies targeted the value-added sector in China during the China seafood expo last week.

Trident was one of many introducing new products.

The company debuted new single-frozen Alaskan seafood skinpacks.

Another company planning to move more toward single-frozen processing is Nordic Seaco, which has sold cod, haddock, saithe and mackerel in China since 1996, working mostly in the cities of Qingdao and Dalian.

"We've been supplying raw material for re-processing in China, but we're adjusting now. We feel the relationship between Norway and China will change and give us an opportunity to focus on the domestic market," said Export Manager Torgrim Finnes.
