Canadian restaurant chain signs on to Ocean Wise program

New menu will feature expanded sustainable seafood offers.

White Spot, one of Canada's best known restaurant chains, is joining the Ocean Wise sustainable seafood program.

White Spot, on June 19, will roll out its inaugural Ocean Wise menu at 65 locations across British Columbia and Alberta. The chain's Triple O's restaurants serve Ocean Wise fish burgers and fish and chips.

The promotion offers not only the opportunity for guests to try delicious new dishes such as ahi tuna tataki and wild pacific salmon donburi, but also reinforces the importance of how sea food choices can have a positive impact on the oceans, the restaurant chain said.

"At White Spot, we believe that we play a role in preserving the health of the oceans for future generations. Seafood sustainability is important to us and we want each guest to have confidence that when they choose a menu item with the Ocean Wise logo, they are making a choice for the long-term well-being of the marine ecosystem," said White Spot Executive Chef Danny Markowicz.

"White Spot is a beloved chain in Western Canada and we're thrilled to have them as our newest Ocean Wise partner," said Ocean Wise Program Manager Ann-Marie Copping. 

White Spot, serves more than 17 million guests annually at 133 White Spot and Triple O's locations throughout British Columbia, Alberta and Asia.
