Irish company signs oyster deal with China

Company will send 192 tons tons of oysters to the Chinese market.

An Irish company signed a deal to send 192 metric tons of premium oysters to the Chinese market, reports Donegal Now.

Irish Premium Oysters, located at Traigheanna Bay in southwest Donegal, Ireland, signed the deal after it hosted a Chinese delegation on June 10.

The delegation was headed up by Li Qinwu, the secretary general of the Guandong Enterprise Association for foreign Investment and Kairan Xie of the Guandong Council for the promotion of small and medium enterprise.

The visit was coordinated by Yan Zhao, China sales director for Jade Ireland Seafood, which markets a range of seafood products in China under the Ocean Jade Brand and represents Irish Premium Oysters in China.

Accompanying the delegation was Susan Sun of Shenzhen North-South Import-Export Ltd.

Irish Premium Oysters, is a family company owned by Edward Gallagher.
