Australia builds to sustainable seafood day

Industry will use the day to market its broad product selection.

Friday 31 March is the Marine Stewardship Council's 'Sustainable Seafood Day Australia' and the industry is using it to promote its expansive range of fish and shellfish.

“Seafood lovers across the country have a smorgasbord of succulent seafood to choose from," said Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA) CEO, James Findlay.

“Why not try tasty scallops from the Bass Strait which has just had its best season in 15 years, or yellowfin tuna from the Eastern Tuna and Billfish Fishery which Australians love in sushi and sashimi, or the sweet-fleshed eastern school whiting.”
