Omani, Japanese firms sign MOU to develop fishing fleet

Deal will help Oman Fisheries to develop its tuna fishing and value-added processing.

Oman Fisheries Co signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Japanese company Kyumura to develop the former’s fishing fleet through joint projects, reports 4-Traders.

The Omani firm aims to develop its commercial fishing of tuna and other high value species in Japan and European states through the cooperation.

It also aims to gain experience from the Japanese company to establish a factory with the latest international specifications for value-added marine products.
