Faced with lower cod quotas, Leroy Seafood’s strategy to pivot its fishing activity into other species paid off in the second quarter.

Although fishing for species other than cod yielded lower revenue, earnings improved in the second quarter for Leroy’s wild-catch operation.

The wholly owned subsidiary, Leroy Havfisk, carries out the group’s wild-catch operations and has rights to harvest just above 10 percent of the total Norwegian cod quota in the zone north of 62 degrees latitude, corresponding to around 30 percent of the total quota allocated to the trawler fleet.
