Hoopers Island Oyster Aquaculture said last week it was named the exclusive distributor of New Brunswick, Canada-based OysterGro turnkey aquaculture systems in four states: Maryland, Delaware, Rhode Island and Virginia.
OysterGro VP Steen Gunderson said the company hopes to expand the company's distribution network in the Mid-Atlantic and Rhode Island.
“Over the past five years, Hoopers Island has pioneered on-the-bottom cages and aquaculture equipment used by hundreds of oyster growers in North American and as far as Japan,” said Hoopers Island VP Johnny Shockley.
