Counting fish is proving big business for Icelandic aquaculture technologists Vaki, which have been heavily focused on their size estimation system, Biomass Daily.

With 98-99 percent accuracy of biomass at harvest, the tech is installed at some level with "most big salmon producers."

Tracking daily biomass  through the use of fish counters installed in the cages and sending information automatically into the cloud, the tech allows farms to focus on specific areas of production and compare different  sites to improve efficiencies, explained Managing Director Benni Halfdanarson.
