Marine Harvest starts hiring for Welsh wrasse ops

The company is looking for hatchery technicians.

Marine Harvest Scotland is hiring for hatchery technicians for its recently purchased marine recirculation farm in Wales.

Formerly owned by Anglesey Aquaculture and run as a seabass and bream farm, the facility will be developed over the next year into a cleaner fish hatchery producing ballan wrasse juveniles for the company’s salmon farms.

The Anglesey site has been empty for a year, but Marine Harvest Scotland will, over the next year, recruit a full team.

"Over the first few months the work will initially involve maintaining and re-instating existing and new infrastructure and services, and re-starting the site," said Marine Harvest's Gillian Dempster in the job listing.
