ASC one step closer to multi-species standard

The new methodology will be operational in three months.

The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) launched new procedures for its multi-site certification process, which would allow companies to get the ASC stamp for more than one site at a time.

The multi-site methodology adds new requirements for multi-site operations and conformity assessment bodies to follow without affecting current procedures on single-site certification processes.

Under the new scheme, all sites applying for multi certifications will need to comply individually with ASC standards.

The methodology went through two public consultations and is available now on the ASC website, although it will only become operational in three months.
