Indian state makes plans for fish hatcheries

The government hopes to achieve a higher growth rate.

The Eluru state government on India's east coast is planning to set up hatcheries to supply fish seed to farmers, reports The New Indian Express.

Minister for Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Ch Adinarayana Reddy toured Yalamanchili, Bhimavaram and Palacole mandals and inspected aqua labs on Saturday. 

He said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu took special interest in promoting aquaculture in the state in a big way to achieve higher growth rate.
