Marine Harvest appoints new MD for southern Norway

Turid Countries Solheim was formerly Marine Harvest's regional director in the north.

Marine Harvest appointed Turi Lande Solheim as its new regional director in southern Norway to manage the operations in Agder, Roganald and Hosdaland.

Solheim was previously the regional director of Marine Harvest's operations in the north, and prior to that was the production manager in the southern region.

"We are very pleased that Turid has accepted the position as regional director,” said Per-Roar Gjerde, COO of farming in Norway and Chile at Marine Harvest.

“She has a lot of experience as director of our business in northern Norway, and also knows the region she is going to work very well,” he said.

Solheim started her career in seafood as a smoker at Mowi's seawater plant at Varaldsoy in Kvinnherad municipality.

Since then, she has had a number of different positions within the company, and she has also been a board member in Marine Harvest.

After three years as head of the company's northernmost region, she is now looking forward to new challenges in the south.

"I am looking forward to new challenges, and I would like to thank colleagues in northern Norway for three very exciting years," she said.
