ISA detected at Norwegian salmon farming site

The operation is run by Lingalaks.

Norwegian salmon farmer Lingalaks detected an outbreak of infectious salmon anemia (ISA) at its site in Nebbo in the Kvinnherad municipality.

A Pharmaq test confirmed the outbreak, the company said in a press release on Friday.

Lingalaks has informed officials and is in "close dialogue" with them on further steps to be taken.

The fish at the site are scheduled to be destroyed this week.

Lingalaks spokesperson Kjetil Hestad said the focus now is on ensuring that the infection is not spreading.
