Aqua-Spark raising funds for further aquaculture investment

The Dutch fund is aiming to raise €400 million over a 10-year period.

The Netherlands-based Aqua-Spark is raising further capital for its open-ended fund, according to filings made with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, reports Real Deals.

Aqua-Spark takes minority stakes for between €250,000 ($267,935) and €5 million ($5.4 million) in SMEs in the aquaculture sector.

The firm is aiming to raise €400 million ($428.7 million) over a 10-year period, and completes a valuation every six months to allow extra capital into the fund.

Pending the current valuation, Aqua-Spark holds €23.22 million ($24.9 million) in its fund and €14.6 million ($15.6 million) in a co-investment pool -- bringing the total committed capital to €37.82 million ($40.5 million).
