Fusion Marine wins £2million Cooke salmon pen deal

The aquaculture equipment manufacturer will deliver 38 triton pens to three different Cooke sites in the Shetlands.

Cooke Aquaculture Scotland signed a £2 million (€2.3 million/$2.5 million) contract with manufacturer Fusion Marine for the supply of salmon pens and associated equipment for farm sites on Shetland.

With this contract -- the largest ever single order won by Fusion Marine -- the company will supply 38 triton pens for Cooke’s sites in Balta Isle, North Sandwick and Aith on mainland Shetland.

“We are pleased that the pens will be assembled on Shetland, which will provide an additional boost to the islands through the development of local supplier networks,” said Iain Forbes of Fusion Marine.

“This latest order is testimony to the quality of our equipment and the strong partnership we have established with Cooke.”
