Skretting, Unga Holdings open feed plant in Kenya

The Dutch giant partnered with Kenya-based Unga Holding and other firms to launch the project.

Feed giant Skretting, together with Kenya-based Unga Holdings and other Dutch companies including Ottevanger Milling Engineers and Almex Extrusion Techniques, opened an extruded fish feed production plant in Nairobi, Kenya, on March 17, reports

The plant was established following a KES 225 million (€2 million/$2.2 million) sponsorship from the Dutch government and is designed to produce high-quality floating fish feeds.

The extruded pellets will be manufactured and sized to offer the best in nutritional value.

The facility will help boost fish production among small farmers keeping fish in ponds as well as those using cages, said Isabella Ochola Wilson, Unga Holdings Limited chairperson.
