Tasmanian Labor party backs Petuna's call for individual farming caps

The call was also supported by fellow salmon farmer Tassal.

Tasmanian shadow cabinet the Labor Party is backing Petuna Seafood’s proposal for a lease-based management of Macquarie Harbor, reports The Examiner.

Rebecca White, head of the Labor Party, supported the idea, saying it falls in line with the policy position announced by the party a month ago.

The plan, announced last week, was noted by the state government and supported by fellow salmon producer Tassal.

“Petuna has put forward a plan for the future sustainability of Macquarie Harbor which is consistent with Labor’s plan,” said White.
