Prices ease but US retail seafood sales remain sluggish

Frozen seafood sales offered a glimmer of hope in March.

Seafood prices decreased for fresh and frozen. However, at an average price per pound of $9.43 (€8.86), the cost for fresh and frozen seafood remained significantly higher than the average price per pound for the three biggest animal proteins of chicken ($3.07/€2.89), pork ($3.14/€2.85) and beef ($6.42/€6.03).
